Typographics is a 10-day design festival devoted to contemporary typography, with talks, workshops, and tours focusing on where typography is today and where its future may lie. It will be held at Cooper Union in New York City as a combined effort of Type@Cooper and the Herb Lubalin Study Center.
The highlight of Typographics is an intensive two-day conference centered on the use of type for publications, advertising, corporate identity, and user interfaces. Registration is open to the public.
A series of workshops and tours have been scheduled with Type@Cooper before and after the conference, with options focusing on everything from hand lettering to responsive typography.
A pop-up lab and storefront space will live nearby the main conference venue. It will host a multi-day hackathon for type design and typography, with a wide variety of informal programming. Registration will be required for some events.
