Abbott Miller

The Picture in the Word

The pictorial component of typography—its figurative and representational potential—has influenced the stylistic development of typography, as well as influencing how readers, consumers and designers interpret and use typography. By way of examples of type and lettering drawn from consumer culture, identity and brand design, and the use of how text is used in the visual arts, Miller looks for the picture in the word in order to consider what people see when they look at letters.

This talk is scheduled for Friday, June 12 at 3:00pm as part of the main Typographics conference schedule. You must register for the Typographics conference to attend.
